Me, pushing 26.

"It's only a number" is such a poor attempt at denying the fact that we are indeed getting older.

I'm turning 26 on November 4th and wow, I can't fathom how old I am right now. I always ask myself "Am i really turning 26?" This life I'm currently living is definitely not how i envisioned it to be when i was in school. I imagined that the 26-year-old me would be married, probably with a child, career-driven, probably working in a corporate company or a PR agency, earning at least RM6k a month. I got none of those right.

I also didn't think that i would be as introverted as how i currently am. I barely make any new friends anymore. Not because i don't want to, but because i hardly go out to meet new people. I struggle to post any personal details on my Instagram because i value my privacy that much. I feel uncomfortable to post my daily routines on my social media - i don't know why.

I'm starting to get that "Na, you should go out more" advice over again but where do i begin?

Anyway, for my 26th birthday, i would like to write an appreciation post for this life-changing innovation that means the most to me. This piece of electronic has been a wonderful companion to me, especially since i have turned to be more introverted and staying in most nights.

This is my Yamaha DGX 230. I requested  got it for my Diploma graduation present back in 2015. I have a piano at home but since i knew i would be in KL most of the time, i knew i needed this.

Being single and not too attached to devices, i spend most of my time either playing my keyboard or reading my non-fictions. For the life of me, this keyboard is definitely one of the best presents i have ever gotten. It completes me. It enlightens me. It gives me a reason to rush back home. It fills me up and it brings me joy. On days when i couldn't sleep, i would grab a chair and sit right in front of this machine and play till my eyes can't hold no more. On days when i feel empty, i would take out a score, practice and it keeps my mind off things. This keyboard completes me. On days when i am bored, i would look for new songs for me to learn.

I place this keyboard at the end of my bed and every time i wake up every morning, it makes me feel "Wow, i'm so lucky to have you". And i make sure i would turn on this machine at least once every day. I also have to put this out here that i don't play for the public, I only play for my close friends and family. Jangan nak mintak saya cover-cover lagu eh, saya pemalu orangnya.

Thank you for being the best companion on my lonely, sad, content, cheerful and sappy days. You're the best.
